What is intimate image abuse?

Intimate image abuse can include the behaviours of:

• Sharing intimate images, either on or offline, without their consent.
• Threatening to share intimate images.
• Taking an intimate image without knowledge or consent.

Intimate image abuse can also be referred to as ‘revenge porn’, non-consensual pornography or image-based sexual abuse.

The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is a global registered charity.
