Ministry of Justice: New Funding
We are absolutely delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of the increased funding from the Ministry of Justice. The government have awarded 79 rape and sexual support centres, including SV2, funding that will see a rise to £24 million over the next three years.
What does this mean for SV2?
SV2 serves all of Derby and Derbyshire, from the south in Swadlincote all the way to North Derbyshire such as Glossop and Hope Valley. Our support team are based in either Codnor or Derby, which can be a big journey for providing services to service users in the north of the county.
The funding will enable SV2 to establish and maintain a hub in the rural North West of the county. This means we can more effectively deliver therapy and Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) services to adults and children in this area.
This support is vital to many who are often unable to access services to help them cope and recover from their experiences.
